The Honor of Chef Kuniko Yagi’s Culinary Art

I’ve had the absolute pleasure of meeting, befriending, and working with Kuniko for 8 years, now. We met at a hot yoga studio in Santa Monica. She took a class. Enjoyed the experience. She became a regular. Eventually she came to a retreat. Over time, we became friends. As I mentored her in the art of yoga, she mentored me in the appreciation of quality food. She guided me around L.A’s farmer markets, gave me tips on how to prepare certain ingredients, and, from time to time, would invite me to a home cooked masterpiece.

She is a Top Chef Alumni and celebrated L.A. chef. I can’t say enough, and neither can past retreat participants, what a joy Kuniko is. To ping pong between deep practice and her delightful dishes is a dream experience. Check out what The LA Times had to say about Kuniko and her remarkable story.
